On April 4th from 7 to 10 pm we will screen in Garage two video performance by Sabine Reinfeld, GAP artist-in-residence. The two complementary video document Reinfeld’s performance made some weeks ago in Berlin and the performance at Pupi Ballerini/Pietre Incantate in the natural reserve of Rossomanno last week on March 30th. The artist counters the stillness of the stones with the presence of her living sculptures. She compares this place with a parking lot of a well-known German DIY store in Berlin, where volcanic stones have also been arranged in a similar formation for decorative purposes. Shoppers were supposed to be offered a place to relax years ago. At the same time, the space has since become overgrown and taken over by homeless people and animals.
German artist and performer Sabine Reinfeld is back as artist in residence in Enna at Garage one year after her first stay. On that occasion she developed a videoperformance among the ruins and rubble of Fundrisi and Fundrò, focusing on the issue of forced displacement with reflections on migration and on presence/abscence in abandoned and forgotten places. One of her main strategies is the »living sculpture«, which she applied again in this new performance.
